traders are only using a few simple techniques and are not fully utilizing the true potential/ Z9 S; n' d1 { l+ U

) P# K1 Z2 h+ U7 e! sWhat is the Square of 9 The Square of 9 is basically a spiral of numbers starting with the
8 B5 M) X8 y3 h) `4 [number one in the center (or apex of the Great Pyramid) with the number 2 immediately
! _$ r* D: w4 Q# l4 c. Nto the left. The rest of the numbers spiral around the center in a clockwise fashion to the' I, I+ }- `: n1 R' p; z" @# a* S
number 9, which completes the first cycle of numbers around the center. 10 through 25& b' |( S8 V9 j* m% J5 T/ o9 U0 I
completes the 2nd cycle, 26 through 49 completes the 3rd , etc… This particular2 ` T9 b3 }* V6 s* V: V
arrangement of numbers creates a very unique square root relationship with other
2 R- L+ ~; U3 j" e0 Inumbers on the chart. Michael S. Jenkins illustrates some interesting square root trading$ v; p0 f6 ], E$ k
techniques utilizing the Square of 9 in his Gann Course and his book Chart Reading for
\; a6 u( f/ ]" m3 I. T! qProfessional Traders. Basically, if you want to move around the coordinates on the Gann' M( A$ D) g0 X/ e
Wheel you take the number you are interested in ( such as the all  High or Low price)6 H, z6 i1 l8 G& P' R3 Y& x3 `& ?% ~
take the square root of the number, then add or subtract 2 from the root and resquare the! X$ p6 z! u1 w$ }7 _4 g
result. Example: Lets say that we are interested in the price 664 (which is in the vertical
9 ]: X1 j- K# U K( L* Xcolumn straight up from the center). The square root is 25.768 + 2 = 27.768^2 = 771% `% C3 j6 G, y N
which is the number directly above 664 or one full 360 degree cycle out from center. If/ W) r; N' M7 Q- u) A
we subtracted 2 from the root and re-squared the number (25.768-2= 23.768^2 = 565 )

" [8 o* o& H# e4 s3 Iroot #), trine (120= +/- .666) (240= +/- 1.333), square (90 = +/- .5) (270= +/- 1.5) and

This technique is extremely useful for finding coordinate squares on the Gann Wheel that, h& `2 w, Q: m4 D0 V4 B8 z
are making hard aspects to a previous position on the wheel. Also, Gann believed that the8 ~: A" ~/ V; U6 J( M
numbers that connected the square base of the pyramid (the 4 corners of the square, i.e.
; P( F+ n/ c4 X! ^8 d# ecorner #'s.) to the “gravity center” and also the numbers that ran straight vertical and
- M) I6 y* S2 i- Qhorizon tal from the “gravity center” in the form of a cross (cardinal numbers) were very
! \/ a( ]+ \" E4 p& L4 zimportant in balancing “Price & Time” on the wheel. He was basically looking for. @# @% p2 v6 S, v4 \5 R0 y
astronomical longitudes to balance with price on these key angles. Pythagoras said “* _( B N! p6 P& |
Units in a circle or in a square are related to each other in terms of Price & Time at" \- U( y7 V$ c# B7 C, j
specific points.” Gann often quoted the Bible, Emerson, Pythagoras and Faraday to name
2 [$ h8 T+ p9 J' ]% ^a few. Basically, he was pointing the reader of his works to clues that would allow his; o! r' K( c/ V/ P! L- L0 J) a

Time around the outer perimeter of the Square of 9 is a circle with months and days. The9 G( g4 Q3 A( N& w, b
circular calendar starts on the left-hand side of the wheel on the same horizontal line as, L! m1 P$ `& z9 U `6 K
the center block. The date is March 21st and refers to the start of the “natural” year in the7 D& b: x0 P0 [2 _- b- Y: p
season of Spring with the Sun in Aries ^. “Lamb of God you take away the sins of the
# Z, J# |5 R3 p7 L* P# Hworld” ( Spring takes away the sins of Winter). The dates move around the circle
4 ~" ]# n) x* n" Kclockwise completing the calendar. This relationship allows the user to quickly identify0 d( d# {2 e; u% o' S& l# m
dates that are Conjuct, Opposite, Square, Trine or sextile to a past calendar date relative
& ~( H+ h9 o% q8 wto the Sun / Earth relationship.

an inner circle and an inner square, as well as an outer square and an outer circle which

low coordinates on the square itself). The outer circle includes all of the planets and is the

clockwise in 30 degree sections of the circle will place all 12 zodiac symbols around the W8 \: _ ?1 }5 k0 {2 L- n6 Q
wheel (^_`abcdefghi). This completes the outer circle and allows the analyst to examine
6 _! c4 H( \6 z; T* P8 Oplanetary longitude relationships to price coordinates on the Square of 9, which is now an
! i, F6 X5 k: e- M7 ^7 Iouter square. In this way, we can convert planetary positions to prices relating to degrees9 G9 j4 c. P5 s A; n2 [
of a circle (Zodiac longitude) and also to coordinates on the Square of 9. We can also

we can also use a first trade chart ( Natal Chart ), i.e. horoscope (another inner circle) to+ y2 G( C0 J( t* {* [) h5 ?
locate sensitive longitude positions that are being aspected by planets from the outer

hinted about this natal horoscope technique in his Master Course for Stocks by saying “2 f7 k8 `+ ^0 k$ t* o$ [2 }- R
The dates when companies are incorporated and the dates when stocks are first traded in
# x* ^* ^6 ~, A2 t, u& j6 Don the New York Stock Exchange or the other exchanges causes them to make tops and2 Q& {8 U1 d$ o* A! [
bottoms at slightly different dates then these dates for seasonal changes”. Gann also

own rate of vibration. Stocks and commodities, like atoms, are really centers of energies,
