this chart regularly as a primary trading tool. However, it is my personal belief that most* W+ Q7 j I& T' t, z; C- g# E/ r
traders are only using a few simple techniques and are not fully utilizing the true potential8 y& `0 }4 J6 }) G1 w( ^+ D

' j4 B' Q" m. Q& MWhat is the Square of 9 The Square of 9 is basically a spiral of numbers starting with the0 ^2 p& a9 R1 S& p* R- F/ h
number one in the center (or apex of the Great Pyramid) with the number 2 immediately5 T4 e' a1 [. n, f4 g. s0 F3 r
to the left. The rest of the numbers spiral around the center in a clockwise fashion to the
; Y! v2 y* C$ |, a& W. E, Enumber 9, which completes the first cycle of numbers around the center. 10 through 254 g- e: }5 U" i* k9 k; z6 j- V
completes the 2nd cycle, 26 through 49 completes the 3rd , etc… This particular( o5 {' P. \$ q) L" e
arrangement of numbers creates a very unique square root relationship with other
/ a T; q9 \# L5 u9 K$ d& p/ z; Knumbers on the chart. Michael S. Jenkins illustrates some interesting square root trading3 G* v0 g7 K7 N) M
techniques utilizing the Square of 9 in his Gann Course and his book Chart Reading for$ t B' k& M& ^* l: q
Professional Traders. Basically, if you want to move around the coordinates on the Gann
# K4 u/ [+ k! o" [5 U8 F$ \Wheel you take the number you are interested in ( such as the all  High or Low price), }6 e5 I& d* ]2 l7 H
take the square root of the number, then add or subtract 2 from the root and resquare the
8 ]4 G( [/ w5 t# {: `# U5 m, G4 iresult. Example: Lets say that we are interested in the price 664 (which is in the vertical+ U! J% l' O- x: X9 ?
column straight up from the center). The square root is 25.768 + 2 = 27.768^2 = 771
8 f7 g. M8 \* \$ n/ j9 l; fwhich is the number directly above 664 or one full 360 degree cycle out from center. If
* }1 \7 |# c+ L1 dwe subtracted 2 from the root and re-squared the number (25.768-2= 23.768^2 = 565 )

6 q! Q* f! f `4 V7 bcenter. Incorporating the Gann Emblem with this technique, allows us to calculate
$ w. v) O- J) Scoordinates that are conjunct (360 = +/- 2 from the root), opposition (180 = +/- 1 from; ]. ^7 r' E1 O" S
root #), trine (120= +/- .666) (240= +/- 1.333), square (90 = +/- .5) (270= +/- 1.5) and

% c6 E! R# O, K* q! ?This technique is extremely useful for finding coordinate squares on the Gann Wheel that

numbers that connected the square base of the pyramid (the 4 corners of the square, i.e.) U, c% f$ Y _
corner #'s.) to the “gravity center” and also the numbers that ran straight vertical and5 E5 ]4 t8 E- X% q
horizon tal from the “gravity center” in the form of a cross (cardinal numbers) were very
1 ~/ x/ \) M: c2 D5 C* ^( @! aimportant in balancing “Price & Time” on the wheel. He was basically looking for+ ~: z, J7 n* _! v/ {: O( T0 A
astronomical longitudes to balance with price on these key angles. Pythagoras said “

specific points.” Gann often quoted the Bible, Emerson, Pythagoras and Faraday to name

circular calendar starts on the left-hand side of the wheel on the same horizontal line as; u8 H0 z; Y& j
the center block. The date is March 21st and refers to the start of the “natural” year in the
6 V b' e0 x5 V% Y8 `season of Spring with the Sun in Aries ^. “Lamb of God you take away the sins of the
' g [7 T: J7 P( W/ o) u% F; iworld” ( Spring takes away the sins of Winter). The dates move around the circle
* F3 t% [6 I1 s$ xclockwise completing the calendar. This relationship allows the user to quickly identify O, s- L4 K Z/ d, H' X- ~
dates that are Conjuct, Opposite, Square, Trine or sextile to a past calendar date relative) Y2 Q+ r: a( d2 F- ^( i
to the Sun / Earth relationship.

an inner circle and an inner square, as well as an outer square and an outer circle which
4 W/ W! x! G# O& A# L4 Cprove the Fourth Dimension in working out price movements.” So far, we have covered
, Q! R# M! g4 {8 uthe inner circle ( The Earth's Orbit around the Sun) and the inner square ( Historic high &: N' I6 b! {: w* X; f: I& E
low coordinates on the square itself). The outer circle includes all of the planets and is the- L" [8 R9 z N6 r5 j
Zodiac starting at the left side of the square also on March 21st. Moving from this point5 R k0 ?1 n& @; Q I
clockwise in 30 degree sections of the circle will place all 12 zodiac symbols around the

outer square. In this way, we can convert planetary positions to prices relating to degrees5 {3 O, T& O! U& y; @$ j
of a circle (Zodiac longitude) and also to coordinates on the Square of 9. We can also
