to the left. The rest of the numbers spiral around the center in a clockwise fashion to the! y4 G5 [5 w4 }, h, |
number 9, which completes the first cycle of numbers around the center. 10 through 25; J- I4 u0 u7 {! J2 W
completes the 2nd cycle, 26 through 49 completes the 3rd , etc… This particular
. J! J& v6 Q" h. k3 m8 v& b" |; c6 Harrangement of numbers creates a very unique square root relationship with other
' f7 l! y4 Z/ I5 @numbers on the chart. Michael S. Jenkins illustrates some interesting square root trading
% e, Z* T" [ ?& R: {techniques utilizing the Square of 9 in his Gann Course and his book Chart Reading for
& C$ z3 K# D VProfessional Traders. Basically, if you want to move around the coordinates on the Gann8 Y0 Y, P1 i- X) T
Wheel you take the number you are interested in ( such as the all High or Low price)
7 x& P2 |: r& `7 I- V3 b- C' _take the square root of the number, then add or subtract 2 from the root and resquare the; H/ M: E% u( m1 ]" c+ i, X2 F
result. Example: Lets say that we are interested in the price 664 (which is in the vertical9 c7 U S2 a8 f# Z( ^# i5 `
column straight up from the center). The square root is 25.768 + 2 = 27.768^2 = 771
; o( z: U) e; Vwhich is the number directly above 664 or one full 360 degree cycle out from center. If
9 D% y9 P" `6 e0 b) h- xwe subtracted 2 from the root and re-squared the number (25.768-2= 23.768^2 = 565 )3 B8 m$ {0 I2 y2 g! _4 J1 t
we would get 565 which is directly below 664 or one full 360 degree cycle in towards) j; e( J; ^1 D+ P
center. Incorporating the Gann Emblem with this technique, allows us to calculate
9 I2 {4 C2 R7 v2 S$ ?coordinates that are conjunct (360 = +/- 2 from the root), opposition (180 = +/- 1 from
! l5 Z c! e6 M! B+ Croot #), trine (120= +/- .666) (240= +/- 1.333), square (90 = +/- .5) (270= +/- 1.5) and
9 h! p- j+ e/ @3 p" j% nsextile (60 = +/- .333) (300 = +/- 1.666)./ w4 h2 q( G0 S0 t2 P2 r: p

This technique is extremely useful for finding coordinate squares on the Gann Wheel that
& M+ V# j; ` h7 v5 F4 Jare making hard aspects to a previous position on the wheel. Also, Gann believed that the
/ E$ c+ x; L8 U0 F4 fnumbers that connected the square base of the pyramid (the 4 corners of the square, i.e.
- G3 `* g, ^9 u2 c3 N1 L u6 Ecorner #'s.) to the “gravity center” and also the numbers that ran straight vertical and- ?) n S4 ^* U. ~0 ], H. R# c" @
horizon tal from the “gravity center” in the form of a cross (cardinal numbers) were very

astronomical longitudes to balance with price on these key angles. Pythagoras said “/ V W" R }2 @/ X
Units in a circle or in a square are related to each other in terms of Price & Time at2 o4 y/ ?+ i$ q+ z) |: I
specific points.” Gann often quoted the Bible, Emerson, Pythagoras and Faraday to name

Time around the outer perimeter of the Square of 9 is a circle with months and days. The+ P K; { W [2 O
circular calendar starts on the left-hand side of the wheel on the same horizontal line as
" M" y( o. h; k6 C5 ~the center block. The date is March 21st and refers to the start of the “natural” year in the( l5 }# |- k% `: {3 C& g
season of Spring with the Sun in Aries ^. “Lamb of God you take away the sins of the
& v. a$ R2 J, nworld” ( Spring takes away the sins of Winter). The dates move around the circle0 t+ O1 J, Y7 K0 l
clockwise completing the calendar. This relationship allows the user to quickly identify
' o* E2 m8 t D/ r6 W2 }dates that are Conjuct, Opposite, Square, Trine or sextile to a past calendar date relative

planetary longitude relationships to price coordinates on the Square of 9, which is now an
3 x5 K6 N1 N- o/ ^ fouter square. In this way, we can convert planetary positions to prices relating to degrees% z V+ p6 Y2 E( {
of a circle (Zodiac longitude) and also to coordinates on the Square of 9. We can also4 O5 \: ?4 c, |! q# n4 V. d
examine hard aspects to both zodiac longitude and Square of 9 coordinates. Furthermore,2 R5 F' f* j3 } S
we can also use a first trade chart ( Natal Chart ), i.e. horoscope (another inner circle) to
