The reason for
) O7 L- E" h9 J6 `2 econstructing a chart like this is based upon the hypothesis that each positive whole
number, i.e. the regular counting numbers1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. all correspond to some specific
degree or angle of a circle between 0° and 360°. Pythagoras, one of history’s greatest
, Z$ a+ U8 o0 Ymathematicians and philosophers said “ Units in a circle or in a square are related to each
other in terms of Space & Time at specific points.” Gann’s Square of Nine is unique in
0 D! y; n* j7 l) ]that it achieves the ancient practice of squaring the circle and as a result is often called
$ U: n' E/ d1 x# S“The Pythagorean Cube”.

- O5 M! G. C) rPast articles have always focused on using the Square of Nine
5 q' T; Z8 P+ p0 D. X" h. Pto calculate possible future support and resistance price levels based on previous highs
and lows applying a modified version of the Pythagorean logic, which now reads as

) H* D& V7 X6 D/ t; j  a" P# ]repetition of the past”. This statement is a basic fundamental belief to individuals who
subscribe to the cyclic theory of the markets and history. Gann believed that every top
5 `/ u$ Z  o" \and every bottom in the markets had their mathematical counterpart in both price and
. He quoted Faraday saying “there is no chance in nature, because mathematical
principles of the highest order lie at the foundation of all things. There is nothing in the
Universe but mathematical points of force”. If we apply this same logic to history using
the Square of Nine, we get some very interesting mathematical relationships!

We are all very familiar with the horrible tragedy of September 11th
$ g& u( P6 _; ^2 Y+ ^. We are also aware
that the World Trade Center was attacked previously by the same sick terrorist when it
% B# E/ Z9 a/ U/ O- c8 A( I4 l7 r0 Hwas bombed on February 26, 1993. Do these two events have any mathematical
2 Z2 X: |; n( ~relationship that would connect them together from a cyclic theory point of view? If we take the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th
2 i& `/ m9 Q# @& y0 v& q5 C/ O- g, 1776 as our
5 I, I0 a) e. w2 F6 Y# B# scountry’s official beginning, we can measure cycles on the Square of Nine from this
9 }) M; }" v$ q" B0 o5 E9 ^8 ]point of origin. From July 4th, 1776 to February 26th, 1993 geocentric Uranus moved
941-deg 51' 57" or 941.8658 as a decimal. The square root of 941.8658 = 30.68983.
From July 4th, 1776 to September 11th, 2001 geocentric Uranus moved 972-deg
2 O( U; [$ N) s: C' ~3 ?( Q% Q54' 42" or 972.9116 as a decimal. The square root of 972.9116 = 31.19153.
/ J- U* R) [3 }The difference between these two square roots is 0.5017. Multiply this by 180
to convert it to degrees on the Square of Nine Chart = 90.3 or 90-deg 18'.
$ Z! J  L/ ]3 eThis means that the two events are square to each other. Uranus was in a  
* {, x4 h9 s( }* @; l: qretrograde station when it hit this degree point on 9/11/01. It should also be noted that
0 _: r+ \5 g& O% w( gUranus hit this point in direct motion on 2/26/2001, which was the exact 8-year
anniversary of the 1st attack. Nothing significant happened on this date that we currently
know about, but maybe it has some other significance as far as planning the attack on
America was concerned? Ironically, Uranus represents “Sudden and Unexpected
" G5 `' o3 b0 U0 xChange” and also rules airplanes in astrology.

Many astrologers are very familiar with the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn and United
! W+ z$ n" R( l( ?6 E% e( T  lStates Presidents. Historically, every US President elected into office during a
4 i4 _6 L" {: N7 s1 F" Iconjunction of Jupiter & Saturn in an earth sign (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn) has died
1 a* b; r" W: e+ Ein office. This can happen during any term of their presidency in the event they are re-
5 h# Y  n! A6 pelected. Ronald Regan was elected during a Jupiter/Saturn conjunction that did not take
place in an earth sign, but still faced an assassination attempt by John Hinckley on March
$ @0 f. b+ L6 I1 }30th
4 }! A! P) A6 n6 c" [/ }3 E6 N, 1981. George W. Bush was elected president in the year 2000, which had a
conjunction of Jupiter & Saturn in the earth sign of Taurus. In a previous article, I
8 c8 g/ U3 H: T( }' a* Jmentioned Gann’s Master Time Cycle of 60-years. In the article, I mentioned that 60
  f; J9 l: ^5 w# `1 f9 Y- Xyears prior to September 11, 2001, suicide pilots attacked America and that the Pentagon
had it’s ground breaking ceremony. Subtracting another 60 years, we find that the
6 Z- q3 t* _8 `1 I7 {: \3 a2 `Republican President, James Garfield was killed by assassin Charles J. Guiteau a
mentally disturbed individual who believed that he was doing God’s work. Looking at the
0 j+ x' l. `' C6 l) a3 ySquare of Nine for potential “danger periods”, we find that Heliocentric Uranus traveled
1 U) O! _& B2 U2 Na total of 456.13° from July 4th
& |2 A2 v, a8 l; {) X* Y+ u, 1776 to July 2nd
, 1881 when Garfield was shot. The number 456.13 is on the angle of 16.9° of cycle #11 on the Square of Nine Chart.
Heliocentric Uranus will hit this 16.9° angle again (cycle #16) after it has traveled 983°
- k7 S# C) g* f) p  Ffrom July 4th
' o% n- b3 }; Y' }9 H! [, 1776, which comes out to be June 23rd
, 2003 as one potential “danger
) w! y* B: `7 B2 P/ vperiod” for either our President or our Country. Given the current religious theme of the
: J! I) {( N/ ]) W4 `% Kterrorist’s actions along with the strong 60-year coincidences and the fact that Republican
1 o' K# m. c. f2 B$ |7 W, RPresident, James Garfield was killed by a “religious fanatic” this seems like a very
! C9 |' R7 v4 u1 V! V* t1 p) V/ s9 U/ qinteresting cyclic relationship. My book discusses some other potential relationships if
you are interested in this type of work. The purpose of this article was to expose you to
8 z6 r. N0 _) B2 M* U# J( {some other possible uses of Gann’s Square of Nine besides trading applications. I hope
that I have been successful in this regard.

aspects for the Square of Nine and Hexagon Charts. The worksheets will allow you to

Gann was a mason and studied numerology, the planets, the bible and other esoterica, and believed thatthe student must put in the and effort to prove himself worthy before he could obtain the key. His thinking was similar to the Pythagorean school, which made new initiates prove themselves by taking a vow of absoute silene, fora  period of three years.

& h4 K9 A/ n- ]The square of Nine is the most famous, and is used by as much as 20% of the pit in Chicago every day.

you should at some point study Gann independently from my works, byt be advised that most of the available courses and books in print tell only half the story.
- x/ a4 s- L: ]3 h! rwith over 20 years studying Gann, and i have come to know well perhaps a dozen of the world's finest practitioner's of Gann's methods. I mention this ony to warn you about the chanlatan in the Gann business these days
