It was a good week for most world stock indices, as several made new multi-month highs. In the USA, both the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) and the S&P futures soared to new all-

highs, consistent with the inconsistent planet of Uranus, which is highlighted this month. The all-

highs also reflected my take on the wishes of the Federal Reserve Board since March of this year. As stated last week, “Our premise laid out since March has been 1) the Federal Reserve Board would do whatever it takes to make the economy look stronger and send the stock market soaring, 2) they will not raise rates because they want a rising stock market in order to create a “wealth effect” for voters headed into the November 2016 presidential election, and 3) US stock indices would soar to new all-time highs prior to the election.” Bingo!

Regarding Uranus and the stock market, last week’s column also stated, “Uranus signatures are highlighted throughout July… This is a massive amount of powerful Uranian force, promising a month of highly combustible events… But now here we are in July, and the records and discoveries and outrageous behavior of humans (and nature) show no sign of letting up. In fact, they may all intensify, perhaps right through much of August, as Mars will conjunct Saturn in the fire sign of Sagittarius, August 24. These cosmic patterns suggest that financial markets will continue to be wild, with new records being set in many financial markets (all-time highs, lows)…” Indeed, USA stock markets made new all-time highs, even as human behavior continued to be outrageous (more terrorist attacks that took the lives of innocent people, including children, in France, and a late-week military coup attempt erupting in Turkey).

Stock markets were also strong in Argentina, where the Merval index soared to another record high, and also in Great Britain, Australia, and India, where indices rallied to their highest levels since August of last year.

It is not a stretch to think that the current waning square between Saturn and Neptune is giving rise to global cynicism, as Peggy Noonan writes in a recent Wall Street Journal article. If you consider “truth” and “honor” as characteristics ascribed to Saturn, and Neptune as denial, avoidance of accountability, illusion, and the effort to make things appear to be different (much better, even more romantic and enticing) than they really are, then you can see the association.

The illusion is what often passes as “truth” and “honor.” It is actually an untruth, even a lie. But we operate as if it is real, for the reality is that we must survive, and survival in the real world requires that we buy into these lies, these illusions of truth. It is all Saturn and Neptune - the real, the unreal, and the unreal that becomes accepted - not as real, but as a necessity in order to just get by. When we get exposed – busted – for playing this game (of lies) and acting as if we believe it, we become subject to scandal, which is the ultimate outcome of Saturn square Neptune. But as long as we don’t get caught, or if we are able to figure out ways to gain enough power to avoid being caught, it’s all OK. Until karma catches up. And then that begins the ballad of “Pluto in Capricorn,” where illusions are shattered and things become really real. It sounds like a Hollywood thriller in the making. Unfortunately, it is all too real.

We live in two worlds today: the real but terrifying world of terrorism and violence on the rise, represented by Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries, and the unreal, self-righteous world of Saturn in Sagittarius squaring Neptune in Pisces. The combination has not only proved to be cynical, but also corrupt and dangerous, especially if you truly believe in the higher principles of these planets and signs (truth, honor, world peace, and reverence for all forms of life). Which begs the question: What is truth? Whose truth, or whose version of the truth, is the real truth? Is it possible we can ever evolve to a point where we accept divergent views of truth? Not easily with Saturn square Neptune. And when they clash, you end up with Uranus in Aries (violence) square Pluto in Capricorn (I am going to force you to my truth, even if it means taking your life).

Last week was an example of all of these cosmic forces in action, from the hearings on Capitol Hill, to the killings in Nice, France, to the record-breaking rallies in U.S. stocks, followed by the attempted or actual military coup in Turkey. In terms of Mundane Astrology, the Sun will complete its cardinal T-square to Uranus and Pluto on Saturday, July 16. Yet we are not yet done with Uranus, for it will turn retrograde on July 29, within a degree of conjunction to the relatively unknown planet Eris, located in 23-24 degrees of the war-like sign of Aries.

The station of any planet (when it is about to begin or end its retrograde motion) is very powerful. It is a time when that planet, that sign, and any planet it aspects, is highlighted until it moves past that degree. In this case, Uranus conjoins Eris within one degree from May 8 through October 21. When other planets enter 23-24 degrees of cardinal signs, as Venus did June 30-July 7 and as the Sun is doing July 7-16, it is also critical in terms of social and political events, financial markets, and nature. Records were broken, as we forecasted in USA stocks, and temperatures on earth rose to record levels during the past month as well. Furthermore, lives can be in danger as some people either lose control and go violent, or they intentionally carry out so-called truths that they have distilled out of their self-righteous but deranged belief systems and religious texts. That is the Uranus/Pluto side of today’s reality.

As long as they don’t get caught, we pretend that it is not illegal. We survive in our cynicism that this lie, and our enabling of it, provides for those who would be kings.

I hope that those who read this column do too, and that you are not deluded by any self-righteous leaders (or followers) behaving as if they have the decisive finger on the scales of justice.

As far as financial markets go, July is likely to continue seeing wild action. Those that have been going up, can continue going up, and then suddenly reverse sharply, all by the first week of August. This is not a stable time, probably will not be until September 9-10, when Saturn makes its last passage in its square to Neptune, and Jupiter moves from volatile Virgo to balanced Libra.
